Ya gotta love a good cutdown...... All the best comediens have an ability to give as good as they get. Just watch one of those "Roasts" on tv and you will see what I mean. If you can't hold your own in an insult contest, you probably won't make it as a comedien. The most effective insults are analogy based. You take one of a person's flaws and magnify it by making an outrageous, over the top comparison to something or someone even worse. Here is an example: A female friend of mine once asked me if I thought she was too standoffish or cold to people because her boyfriend had just dumped her for being "too frigid". Having previously dated her myself, I had to be honest. I told her "Amy, I don't mean to call you unresponsive, but any man flirting with you would have a better chance at being noticed by Helen Keller" She was not amused! LOL! By using the Helen Keller comparison, I was saying that a woman who was blind, deaf, and no longer living was more responsive than her. Now THAT is an insult!
